Astrabeto: The abstract alphabet
It stemmed from a lengthy creative process tied to a larger project. This experience led me to employ abstract forms to interpret emotions, situations, musical rhythms, and more, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue this experimentation, giving life to the Astrabeto.
My abstract alphabet is created by blending digital and manual techniques, as I almost always do. In digital, I designed almost all the letter shapes and applied the colors, while by hand, on various sheets of paper, I traced and painted the various abstract lines and shapes. I believe this combination is important because not many people do it, and it represents my stylistic signature.
Abstract art has opened the doors to a vast world of conceptual exploration, and the main challenge has been maintaining my stylistic identity in these new works.
It is common among us illustrators, creatives, and artists to lose the obsessive pursuit of a personal style, but what truly matters is conveying a message, almost disappearing to make room only for what we want to communicate. Nevertheless, I found great pleasure in this creative process, and as the great Bruno Munari said, one thing leads to another, thus leading me to new projects.
