Abstract jazz posters
Studies and experiments with abstract art
As a devoted jazz music lover, I thoroughly enjoyed creating these posters for a hypothetical music festival. I aimed to experiment with abstraction, steering clear of the usual clichés associated with this type of artwork, and instead, crafting something fresh. Jazz music is all about improvisation and rhythm, which immediately led me to explore abstraction as an intriguing approach.
By experimenting with shapes and colors, I let myself be carried away by the music's rhythm and transferred onto paper the marks that the sound evoked in me.
The posters created as a result of these experiments were sold at the Graphic Days market exhibition on Saturday, May 25th, and Sunday, May 26th, 2024.
